It is a member of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), and it was founded in 1973 with the aim of moderating the cost of living for ordinary Singaporeans. Today, Fairprice has over 400 outlets, including supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores, and Cheers convenience stores. The company also has a presence in Malaysia and Indonesia.
